When I do the first tutorial in the QuickStart guide and get to where you create a button and script it to beep, then try to run the program it seems to freeze in the "Run" command and I can't continue doing the lesson. I think I'm following all the instructions correctly. Has anyone experienced this? If so, were you able to fix the problem?

I assume that "freezing" means that the running program stops responding but you can still select "Design" mode and continue editing.
If so perhaps the Goto command might be jumping to the current card instead of going to card 2.

Thanks, for the response. But, I still don't know what I should do. I would like to hear the "Beep" sound to be sure that I am following the lesson correctly. Sorry if I am seem like a dud, but I'm am completely new to this but would like to learn how to write simple software that I might be able to use in my music class. How can I get creator to do what the lesson says it should do? By the way, after I hit the Run button it goes straight to the card the displays "Author Name" etc. Can you help?

I know its hard as starting to program can be very confusing and anyway we have all been there and whatever our level are still learning.
When you hit the "Run" button then your program should start running. The "Author" card is actually the "Splash Screen" and identifies your program's details to your users. Later you can set the details of the Splash Screen via an option on the Window Menu.
Back to your problem though - Once the Splash Screen is clicked it should disappear and your Home card should appear as in the tutorial. Then you will be able to press the button on this card and hear a beep etc.

Oh! ok. So I have to click on the "Splash Card"? I don't recall the lesson instructing you to do that! But, thanks for the information. I will try that and see what happens.
